I was building a small home in 2005. and my general contractor at the time recommended A-1 Flooring to me. My contractor retired, but I have stayed with A-1. Later I acquired a four-plex, and Stan has done all the carpeting in the units and in the lobbies, upstairs and downstairs. I wanted something in the lobbies to catch the attention of potential tenants and something that the tenants would take pride in. Stan showed me many samples, some indoor-outdoor and some much more elegant. I had a hard time deciding, so he left me some large samples, both in color and then the same patterns in black and white. He left me to make my decision in my own time. It was a great idea! I noticed that some of the carpets I liked in color, I wasn't so crazy about in black and white. Some were too busy and some were too ordinary. It helped me choose a pattern that really worked. I still get compliments on that lobby carpeting. When tenants move in, they exclaim about the uniqueness of the carpeting in the lobby.

A-1 is a three-generation company, and if one generation doesn’t have the answer, another one does. For example, did you know an ultra-violet light will reveal cat urine on a carpet? Well, the younger generation didn't, but the old-timers sure did! That's what I mean about their experience and wisdom. And this little trick has saved me some money over the years, too.

One time an associate told me about a floor company that specialized in apartment buildings so I checked them out. Their prices were lower, but I literally did not like even one thing in their showroom. I stayed with Stan. One time I had a workman doing some work for me on a door and the hearth-plate. When he removed it, we found a problem from a long time ago. The workman did not know how to fix it or work around it. I called Stan and he had two men out in 20 minutes. They fixed it and did not charge me! That's what I mean about how they care. A-1 stands behind their work and will come back to make anything right. Their employees all know their stuff, too. Stan works with you. He doesn't just take your order.

They all have so much patience and they make it seem so easy. Everything they do is highly professional and first rate! Their prices are more than fair for the level of quality you receive. We never felt they were pushing anything on us. They freely shared their expertise and wisdom. They wanted us to have exactly what was right for us, not necessarily the top price floor. We trusted them. We felt they were on our side throughout the entire process and were with us for the long term. They really wanted us to be happy. And we are! I can't imagine that anyone could have done a better job for us than A-1.

I started using A 1 Floor about 5 years ago after a friend recommended them. They removed the carpet in a room and put in a hardwood floor in the hallway five years ago and then did the same with the office a couple of weeks ago. They match so perfectly you can’t tell that the jobs were done five years apart! And what’s more, Stan did it at basically the same price he quoted five years earlier! They also tiled my bathroom and it looks great. He sends out conscientious, experienced people who clean up after themselves. I had a problem with a cable under the floor after the job was done. The only way this could have been any better would be if God did it himself! Stan recarpeted the whole house, laid ceramic tile in the entryway and in front of the fireplace and put new linoleum in two of the bathrooms. A1 is a dream to work with! I went to A1 Flooring to work on my bathroom. I had put it off for a year because I was a novice at this and had been struggling with it. They held my hand and walked me through it, step by step. I have hired A 1 three times over the past six or seven years. Stan is a good guy. I have recommended him to several people. They did a perfect job when they replaced the tile in the kitchen.
