“The customer always wants the estimate now and the fence built yesterday,” says Romuald Hardy, owner of Five Star Fence. “I do my best to deliver that!” He installs gates (motorized or manual), block/brick walls, and fences: wood, composite, vinyl, wrought iron, chain link, netting and hillside fences.
Previous clients valued the speed with which Five Star Fence completes a job. Romuald’s crew of four to five workers (compared to two workers that other companies generally send) gets the job done quickly. “We can do in one day what other companies do in three.”
To ensure quality, Romuald uses premium materials for his fences, including custom wrought iron, fashioned in Five Star’s shop. Romuald also emphasizes proper planning: “Common sense is essential!” For example, snake and coyote fences are typically built at the soil level, while Romuald always sinks them into the earth to keep critters out.
Clients appreciate Romuald’s design sense. He believes good design springs from collaboration: “I listen to my clients’ preferences and needs. Only then am I able to translate their ideas into reality.”
Romuald keeps the client informed of the project’s progress and any potential problems in order to avoid unnecessary costs and delays. “I know how frustrating it can be when you come home and the contractor has made changes without consulting you. I stay in touch and give the client options.”
Tip: Keep tree branches, roots and vines properly trimmed. Otherwise they can put pressure on the fence, eventually breaking it.
Five Star Fence installed a redwood fence and a ten foot chain link with nylon screen for privacy in our backyard. It was a difficult job due to the terrain of our backyard and the issues of privacy we wanted to address. Romuald resolved all of it. We found the price was fair. The entire company is a pleasure to work with and made the entire process so easy. They are professional, prompt and courteous in every aspect of the work performed from contract to finished project.
