Martin and Felipe of Southgate Stone are wonderful craftsmen. What they do is an art form. They are gracious, as is Ada in the office. Their pricing is extremely competitive. They have done two major jobs for me, both with intricate tile work. They work quickly and steadily, clean up thoroughly, and are very professional and responsive, with great follow up. They have unique, smart ideas and make savvy on-site changes when necessary. I trust their decisions. They put some tile down for us that had some natural dark marks on them and we didn’t like the look. They gladly advised us what to use to replace them. No problem! South Gate Stone is fabulous.

South Gate Stone is the best! Martin is so knowledgeable and always happy to give feedback. He knows which stones are porous and which are better for bathrooms. He knows all of the stone yards and he went around to a bunch of them to find out what was just right for our needs. Martin did a lot of work for me on my house, which I built from scratch. Martin Lozano is absolutely the best! I build high-end houses and when I want to look good on a job, I can rely on him. His work is spectacular. I have been using Martin exclusively since 1984. I have known some of the guys on his crew since they were children! His crew is courteous, clean, and friendly. Sometimes a client wants me to get more bids, and Martin’s is usually one of the least expensive bids. His pricing is very fair. He is also great with changes. We just finished a restaurant where they made five or six changes. Each time, Martin sent someone out within a couple of hours to do the change! That’s great service!

I build high end homes and do renovations and Martin is the only guy I use for my projects. I keep using him because he is completely responsible, reliable, does good quality work and has great follow up. If there is a problem, he takes care of it right away. For my house he did a white marble kitchen. My wife and I couldn’t find the right slab, so Martin went around to all of the stone yards and found it for us. People don’t realize but new houses settle in the first two months, and things adjust, like the joints in the stone can discolor. Martin sent over one of his guys to maintain and polish the marble without me even asking. Another thing I like about Martin is that you don’t get extra charges for changes. And if I call him today to look at something, I can guarantee he will be out by the weekend. So it’s not only the great quality of his work, but also the quality of service that makes his company so good. And if I have a homeowner who insists on getting more than Martin’s bid, Martin is competitive – always in the middle.
