Five Reasons to Plan Ahead and Consider Deconstruction

Don’t overlook the value in your old home when planning a new home or remodel!

  1. Deconstruction ensures that valuable materials are reclaimed, not wasted! Too often homeowners simply throw in the dump or give away their valuable and tax deductible personal property. Instead, this property (doors, windows, cabinets, lumber, etc.) can be the basis for real and significant financial and environmental savings.
  2. Why pay more to have a machine wreck your home and throw perfectly good material in the landfill? By planning ahead, homeowners can create jobs and put the value of their old home to work for themselves and their community…
  3. …and generate thousands more dollars for local environmental and humanitarian efforts. TRP works closely with Habitat for Humanity’s Greater Los Angeles Home Improvement Store where most reclaimed materials from TRP’s deconstruction projects are turned into cash to help build Habitat’s interest-free affordable housing projects for families in need; all the while making quality building materials available to people who cannot always afford new.
  4. Homeowners can use their liberated tax dollars for additional upgrades or other projects.
  5. TRP’s ReUse Solution deconstruction is performed by licensed demolition contractors (not volunteers!) in a timely, workmanlike fashion. These Certified Deconstruction Contractors facilitate homeowners’ donations through the careful dismantling of the reusable portions of the home, while disposing of all debris, foundations and hardscape called for by the project.
