What if you could radically transform an uninspiring space without going through the hassle of a major remodel? Reeve Schley, of Grow, offers impeccable, custom-built furniture and cabinetry. Grow keeps their prices affordable by charging minimal design fees and fabricating everything themselves in their downtown studio.

Reeve trained with top designers, gaining a solid foundation in technical design and fabrication. His furniture designs have been selected by Sam Maloof and the curator of the Long Beach Museum of Art for numerous shows. Their handiwork can be seen in the Venice hotspot, Gjelina. They work with a wide variety of materials—from hardwood to stainless steel, glass to acrylic.

Grow offers free consultation and can provide 3-D renderings and CAD drawings. In addition to cabinetry, their kitchen remodeling services include everything from countertop fabrication to electrical design for lights and appliances.

Their technical expertise enables them to either follow existing architectural drawings or work directly with the homeowner. “Our fabrication skills allow us a flexibility with design that sets us apart from other companies,” Reeve explains.

Ultimately, people choose Grow for their artistic ability and workmanship—making interiors their clients will treasure for generations.

Tip: Use green materials in your home because they add to the healthfulness of your indoor environment. And it’s ecologically responsible.

With Miguel, we make prototypes for the hospitality industry: models of hotel lobbies, banquet rooms, and public spaces. These are high-end, four and five-star establishments. We have also worked on some residential projects, where we have created some high-end custom cabinetry according to the client’s design. Miguel is my point of contact and oversees the entire project. We have a five-year history with Miguel and the price is always fair for the quality and turn around time. Plus, the job is always right on! Miguel is always available to me by cell and online. I’ve presented him with some tight deadlines and he always makes it happen. Whatever he commits to, he follows through. I feel that our two companies have a direct, person-to-person connection.

Reeve built some phenomenal custom cabinets and shelves for our garage that we had converted into an office. I am an editor and colorist so I had specific needs in terms of placement of monitors, storing cords and organizing equipment. We talked to Reeve about our needs and he came back with five different 3D illustrations. We could mix and match elements of each design to come with what we wanted. We ended up with polished concrete counters on top of the cabinets. The doors have a fine wire mesh instead of glass. Reeve also works with materials and finishes that are non-toxic and super high quality. Reeve was willing to work around my schedule, too, so at times he worked on the weekends because we were using the space during the week. You get what you pay for and I feel we got huge value working with Reeve.

Reeve worked on the waiting area and a kitchen unit for a car dealership. His workmanship was excellent, he was very accommodating, and easy to get hold of. He paid attention to detail, and took care of any loose ends. His pricing was fair.

I worked with Reeve on the design and fabrication of furniture, (chairs, an armoire, and an audio/video cabinet) for a chemically sensitive client. We had to go through a developmental process because we couldn’t use materials that are regularly used – no plywood as it’s treated with formaldehyde, no chemical varnishes, and no laminates – just solid wood. There was also some special metalwork on the pieces. Reeve was responsible and reliable and his workmanship was very good.
- Ron Macdonald, West LA

Reeve did a great job on my kitchen cabinets, and was fun to work with. He knew all about using non-allergenic materials, and the wood he used was great. We discussed the concept first, and then he put the cabinets together. I’ve never seen anyone combine glass and fine woodworking the way he did. He was ready to start when I wanted, and his price came in under what I expected.

We are the proud owners of a cabinet built by Reeve Schley. There’s a lot of art in his family – his father is a painter and his sister is a costume designer. He does beautiful work and is such an upstanding guy. We are proud to own one of his pieces.
