When it comes to hanging wallpaper, you don’t want a contractor or a painter to leave wrinkles or mismatch a print. You want a specialist like Bill Williams to hang it perfectly. Bill’s estimates are precise and his work is impeccable. He’s reliable and prompt and his pricing is competitive.

With over 30 years of wallpapering experience, Bill knows the ins and outs of wall covering, from tricky digital murals to natural reed or even burlap. He is able to calculate precisely how much paper is needed, reducing paper waste and saving his clients money. Bill’s work is visually seamless and he knows how to place repeats in patterns so they don’t run into a door jam or fall off a ledge.

Dye lots can vary between rolls of paper, and Bill spots discrepancies and imperfections right away. He can hang paper so imperfections are strategically placed. He is fastidious and detail-oriented and will never charge clients for extras without fair warning. Designers love Bill’s artistic eye, and clients love that he makes customer satisfaction his number one goal.

Tip: Make sure you’re using the right material for the location. Choose washable wallpaper in kitchens or bathrooms. Some papers are not made for high-use areas.

I definitely recommend Bill Williams. I’m an interior designer and we’ve used him for a good number of years for 10-15 of my clients. Bill is very reliable and he is on time. He does an excellent job—he has been doing this a long time! If we need something done right away he will switch his schedule as much as he can to accommodate us. He is very good at getting back to us if we call. In terms of pricing, he is right in the middle, which we like! We interviewed quite a few people before we started using Bill. Once we found him, we stuck with him since he fills all of our needs as far as doing a fine job, good pricing and being on time. I appreciate someone who works with you and so we work with him again and again.

Bill Williams has a straightforward, no nonsense approach to getting a project completed. I am a paperhanger myself. Sometimes Bill assists me on a job and sometimes I assist him. This is what I know about Bill. He is honest, reliable, on time, clean and well organized. He always returns his calls punctually. He does what he says he’s going to do and keeps his clients pleased.

I’ve known Bill a long time, 30+ years. I even worked with him for a while, years ago. He is reliable, honest and does good, top-quality work. He has been head of some wallpaper associations over the years and went to shows and conventions. He really knows the “biz” and is on top of the job. He always shows up and that’s saying a lot!
- Rick Lipton, San Fernando Valley

Bill is detail-oriented, his prices are fair and he is always available on his cell. He is on time or he calls if he gets stuck on the freeway. I live pretty far out and sometimes that can happen. He is neat and tidy, and cleans up after his work. When he comes on the job and he has already given a bid, he will tell me up front, before he starts if something has come up that will change the bid. Otherwise, he stands by his bid.

We have worked with Bill the last five and a half years. He does top quality work and his prices are fair for what he delivers. In the past, when Bill was unavailable, we used other paperhangers. Their work was inferior and their prices were higher. Bill works out glitches and finds solutions when necessary. He is a talented, nice, friendly guy and easy to work with.

I’ve been a designer for 30 years. I met Bill Williams at the Wallpaper Bin in San Fernando Valley. He has worked with me on long-term, large-scale projects for 10 to 15 years. I need a paperhanger that can meet my specific needs, and Bill is the best game in town. I like to use hard to handle, complicated materials like natural grasses. He is always prompt, on time and always delivers what I need. There is no monkey business with Bill. He shows up, he does the job, he says “Thank you,” and is on his way. His quotes are reasonable and fair. He is very careful how he cuts the material. When I refurbished my parent’s 1951 home, Bill was the only person I allowed to do the job. He is a very honest man and I trust him implicitly. I would be hard pressed to find anyone to measure up to Bill Williams.

I’m also a wall-covering contractor and I refer Bill all the time. We both work with high-end designers and in high-end homes. We belong to the Guild of Professional Paper Installers. I have known Bill well over 20 years. He is a very good, conscientious, experienced installer. Like myself he is licensed, bonded and carries liability insurance. Although the state of California gives contractors licenses to painters, which also covers wall-covering installers, I have never met a painter who can install wall covering. Sometimes a painter will want the job but they are not qualified to do wallpaper and we will end up coming in and fixing the job they screwed up. As far as pricing, people think they are saving money using low-end guys that charge $30 per roll whereas we charge $50 per roll, but the quality of work is superior. Work is cheap for a reason. People will give a cheap bid and then nickel and dime the client. Contractors like Bill will include paste, tape, everything for the job in the bid. Another way low-end installers get you is they will say you need eight rolls for a bathroom that only needs six. Ultimately you will save money using a contractor who does the job right and Bill is that guy. He follows a strict protocol and is easy to get along with.
