Steve is highly customer-oriented and very personable. He was more than willing to spend time with me, explaining how he was going to replace the siding on my house, which was much more challenging than the roof. His prices were fair and he stayed within his estimate. He is always prompt about responding to emails—much more accessible than many in the construction trade. He combines good client skills with an artistic eye and a responsible business approach.

I got six bids for my roof and Steve was the one and only guy who actually got up on my roof to take a look! He took off a shingle, had me get up on a ladder and take a look at what he was talking about. His crew showed up on time, did the job, cleaned up and were out of there. Because it involved an insurance claim, he was in constant contact with the insurance company. He directly dealt with that aspect of the job, which was a big help! He’s just an honest guy!

Steve reroofed my mother’s mobile home A-frame roof. After the Sylmar fire that destroyed a mobile home park, the state now requires a different fire retardant, energy saving material, which Steve had not worked with and he had to comply with strict and detailed requirements, including state-mandated vents. That’s four major challenges and I was flabbergasted at how well he handled it all! I initially had concerns because I had to report to the mobile home park regarding their rules and regulations. It’s a good thing Steve is computer savvy. I was always emailing him and he was always available to me. One amazing thing about Steve is that he works with his crew from 7:30 to 4:30 each day. He keeps them working! He is a very intense and thorough guy. He has creative ideas and thinks logically. He is back and forth from Sacramento, working with the Cal State Licensing Board and is a member of the American Roofing Association. I have recommended him to others in the park who have been happy with him, too. When he came out for the estimate, he was the only roofer who measured the slope of the roof! He really knows his stuff!

We have a partly flat roof with Cal Shake and skylights. Steve has been fixing leaks as they come up. Once he has fixed a leak, it never reappears. Basically he has reroofed half of our roof by now. When he gives estimates he gives us two or three options, some big money, some less money. He offers a little advice, all good, gives clear estimates promptly after he comes out to bid the job. Steve doesn’t mess around. He delivers exactly what he says he will. Because he is a busy guy, he will let you know exactly when he will be able to come out. He is trustworthy and reliable, honest and very smart! I don’t feel like I have to watch over him when he is on the job. And he cleans everything up.
